Power plant in Mogno

Restoration of the hydroelectric plant - water mill in Mogno

The hydroelectric power plant in Mogno connects the past and the present following a fascinating restoration project, which will allow it to be handed down to future generations. A passion for the restoration of old houses and rusticos, inspired architect Giovan Luigi Dazio to start the restoration works of the hydroelectric power plant in the 1980’s. The production system of the power plant in Mogno, which has been completely preserved, consists of a turbine, a dynamo and a switchboard equipped with control instruments.
Once again, Mogno has its power plant with the original mechanical components, which have been fully overhauled; a power plant in working order, although its purpose is no longer to supply electrical power to the village, but rather to bear witness to its history and ensure its proper place for the future.
